Spinal Traction

Spinal traction is a form of spinal decompression therapy that aims to relieve pressure on the spine. Unlike surgical spinal decompression, traction is non-invasive. It can be performed manually or mechanically.

At Brain & Body Family Health Center, we use an FDA approved spinal traction unit manufactured by Chattanooga Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of rehabilitation equipment for treating musculoskeletal, neurological and soft tissue disorders.

“Chattanooga Clinic Traction provides clinically-proven pain treatment that gets to the root of Cervical and Lumbar pain, allowing clinicians to mimic the feel and effectiveness of hands-on treatment.”

The unit is capable of providing controlled, consistent and repeatable traction force, regardless of patient size. It can be used for acute, sub-acute and chronic conditions. Studies have demonstrated the effectiveness in managing pain caused by herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, and nerve root compression.

At Brain & Body Family Health Center, we work with each patient to come up with a treatment plan for his/her unique needs. Our doctors adjust the treatment plan on an ongoing basis depending on individual’s response to treatment. For more information on spinal traction, give us a call at (616) 202-6368.
